چکیده

Syzygium aromaticum L. is an aromatic plant with a significant amount of essential oil (EO), which used in food, medicine, for flavoring, and the fragrance industry. The purpose this study was to comparatively evaluate chemical composition, yield, antioxidant antifungal activities oils extracted by conventional hydro-distillation, steam distillation, emerging superheated distillation methods. It noticed that extraction methods significantly influenced antimicrobial oils. maximum yield obtained using followed hydro-distillation distillation. potential EO extracts evaluated following scavenging 2,2-dipenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radicals, hydrogen peroxide activity ferric reducing power assays. Results revealed exhibited highest activity. GC-MS analysis depicted eugenol (47.94–26.50%) caryophyllene (20.24–9.25%) as major compounds EOs. evaluated, via resazurin microtiter plate assay, microdilution broth disc diffusion methods, against normal food pathogenic bacterial fungal strains. After comparative evaluation, it observed potential. Overall, methodical evaluation disclosed effective method extract EOs from sources, greater promising biological activities.
